Our next show is Oklahoma!, by Rodgers and Hammerstein. FAQ below

What is Oklahoma!? Tempting as it is to say that it's an American state (because it is), it is also a musical by Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein 2nd. It's based on "Green grow the lilacs", a 1931 play by Lynn Riggs. Ultimately, it's a  - does boy get girl, and does other boy get other girl? sort of a story, with some great tunes.
Really? Yeah, see Wikipedia for a better definition.
Who's in charge? The producer will be Dave Cooper, the musical director will be Bob Crabtree, and the accompanist will be Peter Robertson.
Are they any good? They've done our last five shows (at least), so they know what they're doing.
When is it? Monday 17th to Saturday October 22nd 2011
Where is it? The Phoenix Theatre, in Beaconsfield Street in Blyth.
Where's that? Er...Beaconsfield Street, in Blyth? Have a look at this map.

What does it cost me to be in it? You need to be a member of the society to be involved - £20 for acting members, £10 for on acting members and under 18s.
I'm great! Audition me! Aw! We'd love to, but auditions for the principal parts are on Wednesday June 8th, and the sign up is now closed. However, everyone is welcome to join the chorus, no matter how much of a prima donna (sigh).   There are no auditions to join the society.
Erm...does Oklahoma! really need the exclamation mark? Yeah, it's kind of like Westward Ho!, you know? Part of the title. Can't help feeling it makes us look like we're LOLing all over the place, but it can't be helped.
Where do you rehearse? Usually at the Spartan Hotel, on Sixth Avenue in Blyth. Any other rehearsal venues will be announced at preceding rehearsals.
You haven't answered my question! Sheesh, so picky. Email.
